In this session we'll take a closer look at the basics of generative AI, specifically GPT (generative pre-trained transformer) models and their evolution, as well as how to get started with methodical prompt engineering and everyday use of GPT-based AI tools. Demystify the mechanics behind GPT models, including neural network architecture, training processes, and data handling. We'll explain the development of GPT models, highlighting how key improvements and capabilities of each iteration made these tools more useful. We'll also cover real-world examples of how GPT AI is being applied in work, showcasing their versatility in various domains.
The second portion of the session will focus on prompt engineering. True value from GPT models is only realized when we can craft inputs to elicit the output we need. We'll discuss techniques and best practices in prompt design, including phrasing, context inclusion, and avoiding common pitfalls.
