LiveOnline FAQs

What is LiveOnline?
A virtual classroom is similar to a traditional classroom. The trainers teach in the same way, and the participants learn in real-time, face-to-face but via a digital platform.

What platform do you use?
We use Zoom for our LiveOnline classes.  Access is available via any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari etc). We can also utilise other platforms such as MS Teams for in-house courses.

What do I need to do to set up prior to the course?
Instructions on how to connect will be sent to you by email before the course starts. There are two methods of joining a Zoom meeting, via the Zoom download or via a web browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari).

How do I join the session?
We will send you instructions on how to connect to the class in advance of the class.

Can I test Zoom before the class?
Yes, you can test Zoom using the following link at any time: https://softed.zoom.us/test
Click on “join from your browser” if you cannot run or install the Zoom client.

What do I do if I have technical issues?
You're welcome to join the session 30 minutes prior to the course starting so that the facilitator can work through any technical issues you may have.

What if I need to get in touch about my technology set up ahead of time?
If you have questions, please get in touch with us.

Do I need a camera on?
Yes, we recommend the use of a camera for LiveOnline learning. Many of our programs such as our ICAgile accredited courses require proof of engagement in order to provide certification.

Do LiveOnline courses cater to people with hearing loss?

We can provide closed captions and in some cases full transcripts in our LiveOnline courses for people with hearing loss. In addition to captioning, we can also provide learners with hearing loss early access to course materials and testing of the tools and technologies.
