Moving from a rigid to an agile way of working requires a different type of leadership. In this new context, traditional leadership must give way to adaptive leadership. As a result, the skills, knowledge and behaviours that made leaders successful in the past, may not serve them well in the future.
Whilst this change is not easy, it is both possible and necessary. The speed at which organisations transition leaders to this new way of thinking and working will ultimately decide the speed at which you shift your organisation and its culture.
We work with leaders to adopt an agile mindset, tools and techniques that enable teams to achieve their goals in dynamic fast-moving environments. This includes equipping leaders to create clarity of purpose for the team, remove blockers, create an environment where people can do their best work and where they are inspired to constantly evolve and deliver.
Our approach to leadership change is built around three key principles. As a first step, we will help leaders to understand their new role and key priorities and help them see these as both desirable and achievable. Next, we support leaders to learn through group, team and individual coaching to build new habits that support these priorities. And lastly, we’ll recommend and design new systems that keep the new priorities and habits alive.
Pat is an experienced consultant and Adjunct Professor at UC Berkeley. She has proven success transforming large agile organisations and developing world class enterprise agile practices.
Pat’s experience encompasses roles such as Executive Director at the Walt Disney Company and Walt Disney Pictures & Television, Senior Director at Universal Studios Motion Picture Group, CIO at GameWorks, and Senior Director of IT at GAP.
Pat’s background in neuroscience and psychology provides her with deep domain knowledge of human behaviour – central to the cultural focus of an agile way of working.
Her expertise encompasses transformational leadership, connecting strategy to delivery and solving complex business challenges. She does this by leveraging deep domain knowledge of human behaviour, sense making and design thinking, and empirical methods whilst retaining a strong focus on value.
Nick Fox is a consultant specialising in business agility and adaptive leadership.
He has over twenty years’ experience in general management; strategy development; sales; market development; product development; product management; marketing strategy; and customer experience strategy and design.
His previous roles include executive positions as General Manager, Digital Platforms at NZ Post; Director of Localist; General Manager Customer Experience, NZ Post; and Group General Manager, Sales and Marketing for Datam.
Nick has a strong understanding and appreciation for change management having played a key role in the digital turnaround of NZ Post, a company facing massive disruption, and as a result, transformation.
Nick combines technical know-how with strong customer experience skills. He excels at leading teams to achieve organic growth by ensuring organisations deliver on the promises they make to customers.
