The Future of Project Management

The Future of Project Management
01 February 2023

PMI reports that there will be 88 million people in project related roles by 2027. Arup says that every top 100 firm will have a project management professional in at least one C-Suite role by 2030. Ok, great numbers, but what does this mean for the future of how project management work gets done and how one should plan their project management career?

Simply put, project managers get work done, using tools, frameworks, approaches, templates, techniques, and people skills. They deal with knowns, unknowns, risk, change, conflict, and turbulence so the people doing the work can focus on doing the work. That is a tall order.

The problem is rapid change. The problem is thousands of options. The problem is missed unknowns and knowns that cloud the true challenge.

In this session we discuss the skills and mindsets that will be needed to succeed in the project management roles of the future.

What we discuss:

· How humans work, and what you need to know

· Learning how to learn

· What are adaptive challenges and the skills needed to confront them

· Why the Product Mindset is critical to value delivery in complexity and confusion

· Business models and how Digital Transformation / AI impacts project managers

· The mindset of “Agile with Accountability” and “Tailored Approach”

· Career Insurance methodology to reduce the risk in your career
