"The secret to successful projects is getting everyone involved, collaborating and continuously learning from each other."

Over the past 30 years, I've worked as a business analyst and project manager, helping companies like Unisys and Ford Motor to streamline their systems and improve the success rate of their projects.

After working on many different projects across multiple industries, I uncovered the key to successful delivery. Delighting everyone involved in a project always comes back to how you engage stakeholders. This discovery inspired me to write my book Stakeholder in Your World.

When I moved into a new role at a mortgage company, I was fascinated to find that they had adopted an agile way of working. I loved how agile had a strong focus on early and continuous collaboration from all stakeholders throughout the entire lifecycle of a project. From then on, I became actively involved in agile conferences and interest groups.

The spirit of agile is all about creating a culture of curiosity and learning. That's why I'm so passionate about teaching. For over ten years, I've been a trainer, coach and consultant. I've also worked as an adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University.

In that time, I've supported thousands of students from all over the world, helping them to bring agile ways of thinking and working into their business analysis and project management practices. As a trainer and coach at SoftEd, I was also involved in developing the Business Data Analytics program.

Like many other converts to agile, I use the practices and techniques in my personal life too. When my wife and I renovated our home, we managed the project using agile tools. When I'm not working, I like to go salt-water fishing near my home in Florida, and I'm really active in our church community.
