Specific Techniques to Manage Complexity in Large Initiatives

Specific Techniques to Manage Complexity in Large Initiatives
October 06, 2020

Techniques can be applied to any business analysis approach but choosing the right one for the job requires business analysts to tap into their experience and judgement. Figuring out which technique or which combination of techniques is best for achieving your purpose in a more manageable way, is all part of the puzzle.

This gets even more complicated when you're assigned to a larger and more complex initiative. In this webinar, we explore existing techniques that can help you break down complexity and reduce the anxiety that can come with working on more complex, and/or larger breadth, initiatives. We also cover how to balance simplicity with the need for completeness.

During this hour-long session, you'll learn about:

  • The characteristics of complex and large initiatives
  • The value of making assumptions transparent
  • The various techniques, such as vision and problem statements, value propositions, interface analysis, scope modelling, functional decomposition, acceptance criteria, and evaluation criteria
  • How more formal communication techniques are critical when dealing with a larger stakeholder group.
