The International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile) is an internationally recognised, independent accreditation and certification body. ICAgile focus on advancing high-quality agile learning by ensuring courses align with learning objectives as defined by industry experts.
Accreditation: ICAgile accredits through a series of interviews, course reviews and a matrix assessment against ICAgile’s defined learning objectives. This accreditation then provides international recognition for organisations and their courses and trainers who have aligned their material to the IC Agile learning objectives as defined by industry experts (50+). This helps you to know that the training you are looking to invest in is internationally recognised.
ICAgile offers three levels of certification: Professional, Expert and Master Agilist. The Professional level recognises knowledge acquisition; the Expert level evaluates a learner's competency and the Master Agilist level acknowledges an individual's proficiency.
ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP)
ICAgile certification begins with the ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP). The ICP recognises learning that focuses on agile values and principles at a foundational level.
We currently offer the following ICP programs:
ICAgile Certified Professional (ICP)
The ICP's learning objectives focus on the agile mindset, values, principles and foundational concepts. They are grounded in what it means to be agile and achieve organisational agility without specific focus on any single agile methodology or framework. Upon earning this certification, the student will understand the history of agile, the importance of “being” as well as “doing” agile, key aspects of value-driven development, adaptive planning techniques, and how to cultivate collaboration with customers, within organisations, and within teams.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Business Value Analysis (ICP-BVA)
We offer two courses that have been approved to offer the ICP-BVA:
The ICP-BVA certification focuses on value-driven software delivery, the accompanying mindset and key agile practices designed to emphasise customer value. It also looks at creating organisational and team environments conducive to frequent and transparent collaboration between the business and development teams. The learning objectives highlight specific techniques and practices such as lightweight requirements, prioritization methods, progressive elaboration, product/project roadmapping, story mapping, effective user stories and acceptance criteria.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Testing (ICP-TST)
The ICP-TST certification focuses primarily on agile testing techniques and processes in addition to the mindset and role of an agile tester. Learning outcomes include the ability to distinguish and “Agilize” the different types testing on an agile project, and to understand how business, development and testing personnel best collaborate on an agile development cadence. In addition, students will learn Agile test strategies and techniques related to release planning, testing within iterations, regression testing, performance testing, pre-deployment and production support testing.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Test Automation (ICP-ATA)
The ICP-ATA certification focuses primarily on test automation from an agile tester’s perspective as opposed to a programmer’s perspective. Students will learn how to set up an overall test automation strategy, including determining which types of tests are better suited for automated versus manual execution. The certification also highlights strategies for creating automated story and feature tests as well as system and integration tests.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Project Management (ICP-APM)
The ICP-APM certification will make sure you are equipped with techniques and strategies for successfully managing Lean and agile projects. You will gain actual practice in the role of an agile project manager, using Agile practices to achieve desired outcomes. This certification also takes a much more in-depth look at the fundamental Agile concepts of adaptive planning, customer collaboration and value-driven delivery in dynamic and sometimes highly constrained environments.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching (ICP-ACC)
The ICP-ACC certification focuses primarily on the mindset, roles, and responsibilities of an Agile Coach. You will be able to differentiate between and among mentoring, facilitating, consulting, teaching and coaching, and will also gain the skills needed to create a safe environment for meaningful collaboration and healthy conflict resolution within an agile team. This certification introduces participants to team development concepts around starting and growing teams while paying particular attention to team dynamics and the surrounding organisational system.
The ICP-PRG certification focuses on helping developers embrace the agile mindset as it relates to software engineering. It concentrates on the skills and tools needed to inspect and adapt code efficiently and effectively to accommodate new insights, product changes, and technical innovations. Refactoring, Unit Tests, Test-Driven Development, and the basics of good design are just some of the topics covered in order to equip developers to write high-quality code that is easily understood, changed, and maintained. This certification also focuses on the importance of and techniques for effective developer collaboration within and across agile teams.
The ICP-ASD focuses on technical design with an emphasis on simplicity and architecting for a low cost of change. The course emphasizes design patterns and teaches developers how to do the right level of design at the right time within the development cycle. Learners will also spend considerable time exploring the value of a system that is test-driven, or uses a “test-first” approach. An important part of this certification is to develop not only an understanding of the technical aspects of agile engineering and continuous delivery tools, but also approaches for structuring work in a more agile manner to respond to customer goals and lower technical risk. A goal of this certification is for students to become well versed in effective approaches to agile software design and engineering, with an emphasis on building in quality and lowering the cost of change.
The ICP-ATF certification focuses on primarily on the mindset and role of an agile team facilitator, while also providing group facilitation tools and techniques for effectively designing meetings and workshops that both engage the entire audience and drive towards agreed-upon outcomes. Through obtaining this certification, the learner will develop an appreciation for the art of facilitation as key to fostering collaboration and enabling self-organizing teams. In addition, participants will update their facilitator toolkits and gain practical experience leveraging them to facilitate specific agile practices towards successful team outcomes.
The ICP-EPO certification focuses on the behaviors and skills necessary to transform an output-based enterprise into an impact and outcome-driven enterprise. It also looks at eliminating silos to organize initiatives around value-delivery. The learning objectives highlight techniques and practices to help define value in alignment with corporate vision and strategy, to engage stakeholders at broad levels, and to measure customer value at scale.
The ICP-PFM certification focuses on value-driven software delivery, the accompanying mindset, and key agile practices designed to emphasise customer value. It also looks at creating organisational and team environments conducive to frequent and transparent collaboration between the business and development teams. The learning objectives highlight specific techniques and practices such as lightweight requirements, prioritisation methods, progressive elaboration, product/project roadmapping, story mapping, effective user stories, and acceptance criteria.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Business Agility Foundations (ICP-BAF)
The ICP-BAF certification focusses on equipping participants with new knowledge, tools, and techniques pertaining to business agility. It is intended to jumpstart the organisational and individual transformation towards a more responsive, value-driven reality.
ICAgile Certified Professional in Foundation of DevOps (ICP-FDO)
The ICP-FDO certification provides an overview of core concepts for DevOps. The learning objectives encompass the business case for DevOps, Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, accompanying cultural changes, operational considerations and configuration management.
ICAgile Certified Expert (ICE)
ICAgile's second level of certification is the ICAgile Certified Expert (ICE). The Expert level recognises an individual's competency within an ICAgile track.
Currently, we offer ICAgile Certified Expert designation in these areas:
ICAgile Certified Master Agilist (ICM)
The most advanced ICAgile Certification is the Master Agilist. The ICAgile Certified Master Agilist (ICM) acknowledges proficiency. The requirements for becoming a Master Agilist are much more intensive – prospective designees must pass an advanced assessment, provide a portfolio of Agile–related work, and demonstrate their Agile knowledge in front of a panel of experts.
