Dave Parsons

Dr. David Parsons is a senior lecturer in Information Technology at Massey University, Auckland. He is also Software Education’s Java Trainer, providing training and consultancy in Java standard edition development, web applications, Java persistence and mobile application development.

Beginning his career in the UK, David has worked as an educator/trainer, researcher and practitioner across Europe, North America and Australasia. Prior to his arrival in New Zealand in 2003, he was Director of Emerging Technologies for an international consultancy Valtech, based in London. Previous roles included a senior academic post at Southampton Solent University, working for Ottawa-based The Object People as a trainer and consultant and Principal Technologist for BEA Systems’ internal education.

Numerous articles have been published widely on various aspects of software design and development and he is the author of successful text books on C++, Java and web application development. David is editor in chief of the Journal of Principles and Applications of Information Science and Technology and the International Journal of Mobile and Blended Learning.
